The financing of the St.Gallen Collegium was secured by donations totalling 3.5 million Swiss francs from 421 donors and sponsoring partners for the first three years of operation

The HSG is celebrating its 125th anniversary and the HSG Foundation is launching the ‘St.Gallen Collegium’ anniversary project together with HSG alumni.

Fundraising will be completed with CHF 65 million and SQUARE (HSG Learning Center) will be opened on 11 February.

The level of donations for the HSG Learning Centre reaches 60 million francs.

The foundation stone for the HSG Learning Centre is laid in May. The donation barometer climbs to 52 million.

The building permit for the HSG Learning Centre is granted in July. The ground-breaking ceremony takes place a few months later.

The financing of the HSG Learning Centre is well on its way thanks to the support of generous sponsors totalling 40 million Swiss francs. The winning project has been decided: Sou Fujimoto Architects wins the competition and convinces the jury.

The Foundation would like to thank Wolfram Martel, who is handing over the office of President to Dr Paul Achleitner after 16 years of tireless dedication and great personal commitment. Important decision: The HSG Foundation decides to realise the HSG Learning Center.

Expansion of the University of St.Gallen to include the Platztor and Rosenberg campuses: their modular master planning will be completed in autumn. The financial autonomy of the University of St.Gallen is politically reorganised and enshrined in the University Act.

Initial discussions with government and cantonal representatives about the new campus to be planned. Following his move from PwC to Wenger & Vieli, Urs Landolf strengthens his commitment to fundraising at the HSG Foundation.

Official change of name: the HSG Alumni Foundation is now called the HSG Foundation and Michael Lorz is appointed Managing Director. Generous funding from the Ernst Göhner Foundation and from our Honorary Senators enables the acquisition and extension of the teaching building on Tellstrasse. Teaching rooms, a Trading Room, a Behaviour Lab and an HSG Lounge on the top floor are created.

The HSG Alumni Foundation is to be transformed into the HSG Foundation. The purpose of the Foundation is to promote the strategic development of the University of St.Gallen in the areas of research and teaching. To this end, the Foundation supports measures and projects that are related to the tasks and activities of the University of St.Gallen in the form of research and support contributions. One such contribution totalling CHF 100,000 is paid out to the campus bar ‘Ad Hoc’, which is very popular with the student body.

The building at Gatterstrasse 9, which houses the Löwenzahn crèche, is undergoing a major refurbishment.

2008

Funding totalling CHF 9 million has made it possible to build the Executive Campus. Participants in continuing education events can now stay overnight on the campus. The University of St.Gallen thus becomes a campus university. Alexander Burtscher is elected as the new Managing Director of the HSG Alumni Foundation, replacing Philipp Kotsopoulos.

2001

Establishment of the HSG Alumni Foundation with the purpose of promoting teaching and research in Switzerland and abroad. Founding members: Wolfram Martel (President), Wolfgang Schürer (Vice President), Urs Landolf (Treasurer), Bruno Bauer, Peter Gomez, Björn Johansson, Bénédict Hentsch, Christian König and Dorle Vallender.
