Multi-disciplinary working group

SQUARE

In autumn 2019, responsibility for further development of the didactic concept was entrusted to the President’s Board. This means that the working group headed by Dr. Dietrich Wagner and Dr. Robert Kordts-Freudinger is pursuing the specification of Prof. Dr. Bernadette Dilger’s didactic concept and on this basis developing a didactic programme which incorporates previous considerations and transforms them into specific teaching/learning formats in the HSG Learning Center.

Fundamental didactic idea
Much has happened since the development of the fundamental didactic principles for the future HSG Learning Center, on the basis of intramural and extramural analyses of university teaching and learning culture, as well as of learning centres in other countries, by the working group led by Dr. Tobias Jenert.

Didactic concept
Once developed, the fundamental didactic principles were structured into a theoretical conceptual framework and translated into a didactic concept by Prof. Dr. Bernadette Dilger. This is also where some initial ideas for specific teaching/learning formats in the new environment emerged. The work had been commissioned by the HSG Foundation.

Implementation
In autumn 2019, responsibility for further development of the didactic concept was entrusted to the President’s Board. This means that the working group headed by Dr. Dietrich Wagner und Dr. Robert Kordts-Freudinger is pursuing the specification of Prof. Dr. Bernadette Dilger’s didactic concept and on this basis developing a didactical programme which incorporates previous considerations and transforms them into specific teaching/learning formats in the HSG Learning Center. In this context, the working group develops ideas for the utilisation of the HSG Learning Center and discusses them with the faculty, on the one hand, while on the other hand, the faculty will have various opportunities to introduce their own ideas for teaching in the Learning Center and to implement them in cooperation with the working group.
Owing to the architectural decisions that have already been made, the HSG Learning Center will provide various novel framework conditions and options for effective learning and teaching at the University of St.Gallen. In the course of next year, these potentials will have to be identified and translated into specific teaching/learning formats together with HSG degree course programmes and the HSG faculty.
