Strategic partnership: CS and HSG

Credit Suisse and the University of St.Gallen (HSG) are entering into a strategic partnership that encompasses three areas of support. As part of this partnership, Credit Suisse will contribute CHF 20 million over the next ten years.

One focus of the partnership is the development of know-how at the interface between finance, management and law.Therefore, the University of St.Gallen is founding the “HSG Center for Financial Services Innovation” and establishing new interdisciplinary research areas.

Credit Suisse is providing initial funding of 10 million Swiss francs to launch the center and establish several professorships. It will also be a founding and strategic partner of the HSG Center for Financial Services Innovation for the next ten years.

In addition, Credit Suisse is supporting the development of the HSG Learning Center with a donation of CHF 3 million to the HSG Foundation. The HSG Learning Center will open in February 2022 and will be an innovative place to think and work, enabling new ways of learning and interaction between students, faculty and people from the field.

In a further step, Credit Suisse and the University of St.Gallen have agreed on various cooperation activities. Among other things, Credit Suisse will become the “HSG Campus Bank,” the namesake of a co-creation space in the HSG Learning Center, and a partner in various campus and HSG activities, such as workshops and lectures for students on the topics of career planning and skills development, as well as specialist topics relating to financial services. A total of CHF 7 million will be invested in various cooperation activities over the ten-year contract period.
