HSG Social Scholarships

Enabling a Bright Future for all

The HSG Social Scholarship supports students from Switzerland and abroad who are unable to continue their studies due to financial difficulties. Depending on the case, the HSG Social Scholarship is awarded for 1-2 semesters.

130 students will be supported with the HSG Social Scholarship in 2024.

Create opportunities

«The support was crucial during my studies to be able to study under equal conditions as other students, for example, financing rent and other important necessities. With this support, I was fully able to concentrate on my studies and my performance. I am very grateful for this valuable support to this day and will continue to be for the rest of my life.»

Our challenge

With the HSG's steady growth to 10'040 enrolled students in the autumn semester of 2024 and the rising cost of living, the need for social scholarships is also growing. In order to continue to support our current 130 young talents next year, we need donations of of CHF 500'000 by summer 2025.
10'040 Students
Steady growth in student numbers and rising cost of living.
+ 30% Proposals
Since 2019, the number of students applying for funding has increased by more than 30 per cent.
Economic uncertainties
Economic uncertainties and the rising cost of living mean that it will not be possible to support all scholarship holders in the future.

The HSG Social Scholarship

Scholarship holders receive funding for tuition fees and a lump sum for materials per semester. The grant is non-repayable and is awarded on an individual basis by HSG Student Financing for one or two semesters from the second semester onwards (except in the Master's programme).

Example 1: Elias, Swiss, 19 years old

Lives in the canton of Zurich with three school-age siblings. His widowed father is unable to pay for his studies, despite support and a widower's pension. Thanks to his grandparents, Elias was able to finance his first year at university and did well. He would like to study law and economics.

Supporting talents

It is a personal concern of mine to attract young, committed talent to the HSG and to give them the opportunity to develop into responsible, entrepreneurial specialists and managers. The HSG Social Scholarships are one way in which we can support them in this endeavour.

Enabling future opportunities

Donate now so that all talented and determined young people have the chance to realise their dreams for the future, to realise their dreams for the future.

I would strongly encourage potential donors to support the DSF Fund because of the significant impact it has on students at HSG. Our university is home to many remarkable students, each with unique interests, capabilities, and ambitions. To fully develop these talents, it is crucial for students to focus on their studies and personal growth without the constant worry of financial constraints. I am deeply grateful of the opportunity to receive the scholarship at HSG.
