The HSG Foundation celebrated the ground-breaking ceremony for the new HSG Learning Center with a symbolic act.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the HSG Learning Center in St.Gallen took place on November 6, 2019. The new building should be ready for occupancy in spring 2022. On around 7,000 square meters at Guisanstrasse 20, it will offer space for future-oriented teaching and learning opportunities.
Paul Achleitner, President of the HSG Advisory Board, emphasized in his speech: “The new HSG Learning Center demonstrates the innovative spirit of the University of St.Gallen. This unique project will have a significant impact on the future image of the University of Rosenberg. It fills me with pride that the HSG Foundation, thanks to all the sponsors, can provide the necessary funds for the construction and help shape the future of the HSG”.
Rector Thomas Bieger associated the ground-breaking ceremony with the future of learning: “The HSG Learning Center is a beacon for the development of the HSG. It stands for the development of teaching and learning and thus for the University 4.0. It offers added value through personal interaction and encounter, especially in the age of digitalization.”
Florian Wussmann, President of the Student Body, emphasized the importance of the HSG Learning Center for students: “The HSG Learning Center creates a place where HSG students, today and tomorrow, can work together on the issues of the future in an innovative environment. This opens up new opportunities for generations of students, which will be of decisive value for our work in business, government and society”.
